I've Been Where You Are.
I was waking up in the middle of the night wondering if I had ordered the correct dimensions and constantly worrying about making a mistake that would cost me money and my reputation. That is why I developed my step-by-step process for designing window treatments which allowed me to rest easily. My customers were delighted with the results which lead to referrals and repeat business.
I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising.
My first "real" job was working in Harvard Square for Laura Ashley. This is where I fell in love with textiles and saw how fabric could transform a room.
The first window treatment I sewed was a balloon shade for my bedroom, which turned out functionally and aesthetically successful!
As a newlywed, I would sew decorative pillows with lovely trim and custom shower curtains for our apartments because the store-bought ones were not very cute. Once we bought our home, I began sewing all the window treatments. Friends and family who visited our home were always envious and wanted me to sew for them too.
My eye for fabric and sewing skills led to a business designing and fabricating window treatments that I owned and operated for 15 years.
In 2015, I returned to the corporate world as a training manager for a national window treatment brand, teaching designers how to transform windows with hard and soft window treatments. Now I can take all my product knowledge and guide you through the process to get it right the first time!
